I am a largely self-taught ceramics artist who works mainly in stoneware clay. The majority of pieces are individual thrown forms that have been altered and sculptured to form shapes based on weaponry, tools and human forms. Pieces are decorated in glaze or slips that enhance the industrial or figurative qualities of the work.
Education
I have very little formal education in ceramics, but completed 'O'-level Pottery and then 'A'-level Art classes. I have been a part-time potter working in Adult Education classes since 1988, also working in a studio setting since 2000.
At Adult Education Summer Schools I have participated in classes devoted to mould making, slip casting, paper-clay and raku firing.
Since 2002 I have been potting at the Fired Up Studios at Westbourne Studios, London.
