My ceramic work is inspired by pebbles collected from the beach. I use hand-building techniques to create organic forms, which can be admired for their sculptural beauty as well as used functionally to hold flowers. I aim to capture the amazing variety of surface pattern, line, colour and texture found on pebbles, and my textiles background, in particular in felt-making, has inspired me to incorporate oxides and other materials into a variety of clays to create interesting and unusual surfaces.
