My preferred method of shaping the clay is a mixture of slabbing, moulding and slip casting. I work with earthenware body and either use several layers of low fired glazes to create texture and depth (in an electric kiln or a raku kiln when reduction is desired) or apply decorating slips with the burnishing method, trying to mimick the forms and colours of the natural worls around us. I use basic ingredients to produce my own glazes. As a Shiatsu practitioner I am fascinated with the energy of glazes and their vibrational effects on human psyche and health; a subject that I passionately share with others in my Sacred Pottery workshops.
