I was introduced to pottery at evening classes in the late sixties and joined the CPA. I met Walter Keeler at a potters’ camp at Loseley Park, Surrey where he was building and firing his own designed wood fired raku kiln. From this I made and fired a series of wood-fired kilns in Herts, Cambridge, Monmouth and Cirencester over the years with both students and friends.
I have taught design and technology to children and ceramics to adults and children for many years. I continue to teach both adults during the day and evenings. I have made raku fired lamps and many functional pots.
I currently make in Epsom and France, brightly coloured hand-built wall reliefs and thrown 3D abstract designs, influenced by artists who were inspired by the light on the Riviera at Nice and St Tropez.
