I mostly work in stoneware, using the coil or slab methods to create distinct organic shapes. Texture is important, so I add in beach shale, or impress lace, coral or animal bones into the clay, depending on what effect I’m looking for, thus the natural world certainly plays its part in what I do.  Currently birth and death and the intervening process of decay interests me, hence my partially-decayed fish series. Alongside this I am fascinated by the interaction of shapes, and how they can merge and disconnect at once.
