My new series of slab-built porcelain vessels are illustrated with sketchbook observations of life around me over the years. Themes include musicians, buddha sculptures, plants, children at play and objects drawn while visiting museums.

The drawn lines are deepened and corrected using a sharp pin needle tool and filled with black or electric blue underglaze. Coloured areas are added and scratched into combining the Mishima inlay technique with sgraffito and thin coloured wash painting. They are finished with a transparent glaze.
