September 2nd 2023: Sculpting a Small Figure with Stance – Jemma Gowland
In this workshop, attendees will be sculpting a small figure. Attendees will learn about basic body proportions and how these change with age, how to make an armature out of drinking straws to cheat at getting these proportions right. There will be hints and tips for changing stance to create a story, observational skills – what makes a figure seem young or old.
Jemma will be demonstrating and using slides to begin with (initial 30 minutes of the workshop) and then iterate between demonstration and attendees making their sculpture.
Please note that this course does not include demonstrations of sculpting faces to go with the figure.
