Bringing the vibrant wonders of northern India to the Durning Library in London, MacPhee has created a series of small-scale ceramic works whilst on an artist residency at Farm Studio in Rajasthan. Adopting the traditional miniature format, but using clay, these works are intimate, painted windows and sculpted dioramas that depict scenes of everyday life in the village. The ceramic works are evocative of the unique experience one has from being welcomed into the community there.
Henrietta MacPhee’s exhibition ‘Indian Miniatures’ will open at the Durning Library from the 4th to 21st of June 2025. She invites you to the private view on Wednesday 4th June, from 6-8pm.
