I make ceramic objects primarily out of a desire to flesh out the abstract, to give a visual and physical presence to intangible concepts. I consider my main sources of inspiration to be traditional pottery and painting and I find still-life compositions particularly compelling due to the quiet contemplation they suggest.
At present I am creating objects with an inverted trompe l’oeil play between two and three dimensions.
