Potters collects your personal information (such as your name, email/postal address, telephone number, etc) when you register as a member. This information is used to fulfil London Potters activities, to secure membership benefits and to carry out any legal obligations. You have the right to review, amend or have your data deleted. We do not share information with third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

It may be necessary to provide member information to specific third parties to fulfil conditions of certain exhibitions, events or activities. Members will be notified in advance if this is a requirement. We may also ask for some additional information, for example, banking details in order to make a payment to you after an exhibition.

Your information will be held electronically. We will take all reasonable precautions to prevent its loss or misuse. Please update your details on your account on the website, or advise us of any changes to your information, if you do not have a web login, in order that we may keep accurate records for you. If you leave London Potters membership, we will retain your information in line with current legal legislation. We will also ask you if we may archive your details for historical purposes of the Society.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation our lawful basis for processing and holding personal information is legitimate interest as it is necessary for London Potters to use this information in order to provide you with our services.

Mailing list subscribers via Mailchimp

London Potters will use the contact information you provide to send invitations to our exhibitions and events. We will also send monthly news updates with details of where to see and buy work by our members. You can change your mind at any time by clicking the unsubscribe button on any email you receive from us. By signing up to this mailing list you acknowledge that the information you provide will be transferred to Mailchimp in accordance with their privacy policy.

Data Protection Rights

Under data protection law, all members and Trustees have rights including:

Right of access – The right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Right to rectification – The right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Right to erasure – The right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Right to restriction of processing – The right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Right to object to processing – The right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Right to data portability – The right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances. You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
