Path and Inspiration
I'm inspired by the earthly nature of clay, the transience of the natural world, and the way in which ceramics allows these elements to combine and transform into an object of permanence.Process and Practice
I create handmade ceramic vessels, focussing on moon jar-inspired forms with unique and painterly surfaces. Made on the potter's wheel, these jars are explorations of colour and texture. Using a dynamic process of layering slips, powder pigments and glazes over the surface, I aim to capture the energy of the making process and link the elemental nature of the clay and maker to the final piece. Each vessel is a one off piece of tactile art.
