Path and Inspiration
I first set foot in a community ceramic studio in Brighton (Pottery Gagliano) in August 2022, where I did a short course in wheel throwing. I was immediately hooked and a few months later I invested in a small wheel at home and which was the best decision / leap I ever made! As a half Swede, I draw a lot of inspiration from some of the amazing female ceramicists working in Sweden in the mid-twentieth century. I also have an urge to make happy, playful objects.Process and Practice
I make part time, alongside a day job in education, with a studio that also doubles as my office. I get total joy from a weekly cycle of practice, experimentation (learning and trying something new each week) and the satisfying clay reclaim cycle and studio maintenance. I also love being part of a local studio community, Pottery Gagliano, the most supportive community of practice and place to learn with and from my peers and friends.
