Path and Inspiration
Anne returned to full time education in 2017 to complete an HND in Product Design (Ceramics) at Morley College, London. She now makes functional and sculptural pieces at her home studio overlooking Ashtead Common.
New work explores abstract mark-making and handmade glazes linked by a muted colour palette.Process and Practice
Bowls and mugs are handthrown on the wheel primarily using Audrey Blackman porcelain. Vases are slipcast using handmade plaster moulds, often combining glaze with an unglazed but polished surface.
Anne's sculptural wall pieces developed during lockdown. Inspired by the art of Origami, they are handbuilt using porcelain paperclay exploring light and shadow across a surface.
