Path and Inspiration
Former scientist, I transitioned from a career in physics and scientific publishing to pursue my artistic passion in 2023. My work currently revolves around the human experience, exploring themes of imperfection, transience, fragility, and loneliness. I seek to evoke a sense of lightness in clay, transforming this inherently heavy material into delicate, almost ephemeral pieces.Process and Practice
My work is mostly process driven, when I try to design a piece ahead, I can rarely stick to the plan! I'm mostly driven by curiosity and the desire to learn new techniques. I'm particularly curious about the chemistry behind glazing and probing the limits of materials through gas firing or by making extra thin porcelain casts of natural elements.
