Path and Inspiration
After earning my BA in Architecture in Tehran, Iran, I worked at an architectural office that cherished handmade tiles. Iran’s rich tile-making tradition with its stunning mosaics enchanted me, leading me to pursue another BA in Ceramics at Sorre Art University of Tehran. In 2013, I launched Bahareh Ceramics, creating bespoke tiles for architects. Clay became my voice and solace during challenging times. This drive led me to the UK, where I'm now pursuing an MA in Ceramics at UCA.Process and Practice
My approach to ceramics is metaphorical, inspired by my surroundings and reflecting what I see and feel symbolically. Before coming to the UK, I primarily worked with earthenware clays, creating and painting tiles, and completed two beautiful hand-painted murals. Now,I am thrilled to explore the variety of clays available, enjoying both handbuilding and wheel throwing.I particularly love making complex coil-assembled structures, expanding my artistic horizons and experimenting with new technique.
