Path and Inspiration
I started learning to throw at various potteries in East London in 2015. With a background in textiles and illustration clay has been an exciting medium to work in and has brought many new possibilities. Also a practising psychotherapist I enjoy exploring unconscious processes through my ceramic work and have been delighted by the endless permutations and possibilities of clay.Process and Practice
I take an experimental approach to making and use the clay to explore and respond to form, texture, memory and emotion often returning to various thematic streams including geographies, the sea, ancestors and identity. I make a range of often 'hand sized' sculptural forms, some more functional than others, often not quite one thing or the other. I like the finished work to look off kilter and as though changed by time ,which of course they have been….
