Path and Inspiration
I was first introduced to porcelain while studying at Clay College. I have since found that this material is ideally suited to the refined shapes that I am looking to create. In the development of my designs, I aim to balance precision of form with fluidity in the surface decoration. I am particularly drawn to European ceramics of the early to mid-20th century and am hoping that my pieces convey my love for design and attention to detail.Process and Practice
All of my pieces are wheel-thrown and hand-decorated. I predominantly work in Ming porcelain which after the first firing becomes the perfect canvas for my loosely drawn decorations with ceramic pencil and underglaze colours.
