Path and Inspiration
Through working with museum antiquities, Caroline’s research has led to an exploration of the ambivalence of memory and recorded history, and her practice addresses central destabilising factors we encounter: the expression of tension, the processing of personal and environmental grief, and the wider influence of family and societal expectation on the discovery of self.Process and Practice
Whilst at the RCA, Caroline developed her practice to incorporate concept-led work processes, exploring ‘disrupted’ clay extrusions, combining hand-built and slip cast forms, in addition to experimentation in glass, bronze, plastics, and wax in response to the challenges of sustainability and increasing environmental pressure.
