Path and Inspiration
I’m inspired to make pieces that enhance life’s daily rituals and are intertwined with our daily rhythms. Pieces with which we interact on a daily basis, no matter how humble.
If I can make a mug that becomes a favourite then I have done my job well!
The weight, touch and feel of a piece will inform my creative direction.Process and Practice
My process is driven by function. If it is a smooth white hardwearing piece I seek to make then I will cast in Bone China.
Equally a hand-thrown and altered terracotta one-off piece may be the order of the day.
Form follows function and aesthetic will also organically develop along this route.
I’m totally happy to move between methods and be a total magpie taking what I need to move forward with an idea!
