Path and Inspiration
Figurative pieces, inspired by life around me. I use stoneware, and my figurative work in inspired by my life drawings at art classes. I like experimenting with different effects of oxides and glazes, using textures on the work. I like doing a few humorous pieces using underglazes to get bright colours and make people smile. I've recently been inspired by creatures from the sea - the weird and wonderful - looking at some strange things my son has caught while fishing!Process and Practice
I work from photographs and drawings for my figurative pieces, and build by hand, usually using either stoneware or crank (if a particularly large work requiring support).
