Path and Inspiration
My passion for pottery started over 20 years ago at the local adult education college in Sutton and I gained a BTEC Diploma in Ceramics in 2009. I love working on the wheel, mainly using porcelain. My husband and I love to entertain and most of my wares are designed with entertaining in mind. I frequently buy pots and mugs from other makers which give me great pleasure in daily use. I hope my wares may in turn delight others.Process and Practice
During my BTEC studies, I was fascinated by Korean Punch'ong ware and experimented with making my own stamps and inlaying different clay slips. I use stamps in design & making porcelain tealights, as well as coloured clay slips, crayons and sgraffito for my range of functional tableware in porcelain & white stoneware. I have a studio in my loft space at home in Carshalton, using an electric kiln and Shimpo wheel. I continue to take classes at Sutton College as there is always more to learn....
