Path and Inspiration
I like making functional pieces and I produce small batches of thrown work in both porcelain and stoneware. Recently I have been concentrating on bottle forms. Most of my work is decorated with decal transfers and I enjoy researching and creating new images and text. As well as being inspired by a Victorian aesthetic my work is also intended to make people smile.Process and Practice
My work is mainly thrown on the wheel. I use porcelain and stoneware to create small batches of eclectic and quirky pieces. These include mugs, jugs, bottles and many other forms. I'm interested in surface design and I use bespoke decal transfers and other types of print. Some of my work is hand marbled in a marbling bath, similar to the process used on paper. I also make tiles and use a lithographic type process to transfer the images on to the clay surface.
