Path and Inspiration
With my background in textile design, working with clay has been a natural progression. In particular, porcelain started me on a journey to create refined and elegant ceramic jewellery.During lockdown I started working on larger more expressive pieces, creating flower sculptures, decorative vessels and ceramic wall art.The natural world, my asian heritage and other artists are among some of the things that inspire me, whether it is referring to shapes, patterns or colour.Process and Practice
Clay is a medium which invites experimentation, allowing for exponential possibilities. It is this property which makes it attractive, not only to handle but also as a form of expression. As well as form, I am interested in combining various decoration techniques, which not only are on the the surface of the clay but maybe contained within the structure of it.My pieces are hand built using a variety of techniques.
