Path and Inspiration
Founded in Clink Street in 2014, Clink Street Ceramics is a small pottery studio in Central London. With craft progressively pushed away from the city centre, we aim to reconnect society’s cult of making with our urban environment. Each pot is made by hand by studio potter James Sims on a traditional potters wheel, and fired in small batches in our 100 litre kiln. Our work embraces a range of functional and decorative ware that is playful and attempts to bring an emotional dimension to pottery.Process and Practice
Clink Street Ceramics produces handmade ceramic art from our studio in Central London. Each piece of pottery is thrown by hand on a traditional potter’s wheel and fired to over 1,000°C.We exhibit work in our public display cabinet on Clink Street, London SE1. Our space is one of London’s only permanent public art displays dedicated to the exhibition of pottery and ceramics. As well as showing our own work, we host a revolving programme of displays by guest ceramic artists.
