Path and Inspiration
I was a Theatre Designer and later moved into special education. Over the years I attended various ceramic courses & classes, eventually being inspired by Carolyn Gender's use of coloured slip at West Dean. I now live in Hastings where I enjoy spending my time between pottery and stage design.Process and Practice
I handbuild, cast from my own moulds and throw; using mainly Earthstone Original. I make elephants, mermaids, domestic ware and sculptural vessels which I decorate by painting, stenciling and splattering with coloured slips, underglazes and oxides. Since a trip to South Korea with London Potters 3 years ago, I have been making large jars and moon jars. I sell on Etsy, at local craft fairs and exhibitions with Kent Potters Association.
