Path and Inspiration
The ceramic forms I make have been influenced by the delicate and fragile nature of the living organisms found in the sea; I like their gentle flowing, how they take shapes and the pattern of their surface. In my vessels I try to capture their delicate qualities by making them as exquisite as possible. My work is mostly about surface decoration and the slow hand build process allows time for a meditative approach which couple with determination and patience bring me joy and satisfaction.Process and Practice
I use a SP and Parian clay and my making combines hand building, press moulding and slip casting. I build reach surfaces from oxides and colour stains, glaze and lustre to create pieces that express the ideas that regard as being important. I fired my work in an electric kiln 3 o 4 times at different temperatures
