Path and Inspiration
Grace began her ceramics practice in Japan and Singapore, which heavily influenced her shapes and style of making. She is most recently inspired by the farms and kitchen gardens of England - she has been traveling around the country looking for the most stunning gardens and produce. She immortalizes fruits and vegetables in elaborate sculptural yet functional pieces to be celebrated in homes and galleries around the world.Process and Practice
You can often find Grace rooting around in farmers' market bins or even a grocery store aisle looking for the most perfectly imperfect produce to create moulds or inspire her next piece. Grace’s artforms typically begin as thrown pieces on the wheel, in stoneware and porcelain clays. Grace then meticulously applies delicate sprigs, oxides, and glazes by hand and brush to produce her bountiful ceramic pieces. Her works are then high-fired in studio or traditional Japanese anagama wood kilns.
