Path and Inspiration
I first worked with clay more than 30 years ago before pursuing a career in architectural practice and studio design teaching at Higher Education level. I have now happily returned to ceramic making and work from a studio in Leyton, London E10. I am forever inspired by nature’s beauty and the resources provided by the natural world. This feeds my deep interest in the processes of craft which bring to life the physical objects and material culture of a society.Process and Practice
I enjoy using techniques to reveal the implicit characteristics of clay and am always fascinated by how the constituent parts in clay have particular roles to play and can be harnessed to offer infinitely varied and unexpected outcomes.
