Path and Inspiration
A lifelong ambition finally resulted in booking a course at The Kiln Rooms in Peckham where I joined an amazing bunch of likeminded people - friends to this day - and never looked back. Lockdown meant I had to experiment more with hand building and I now have my own little garden shed studio. Inspired by amazing teachers and fellow potters and above all learning to accept failures and keep going, my pieces are always functional but I like to think decorative at the same time ....Process and Practice
Pottery for me is a joyful hobby. I am currently focussing on making smaller hand built pieces - tableware, particularly for salt and pepper, which make ideal small gifts and I can fit them in my small kiln! Experimenting with glazes oxides and lustres never quite knowing what will emerge. I use a stoneware porcelain mix which makes the pieces feel delicate but with a hidden strength .....
