Path and Inspiration
I fell in love with clay when I was working for the NHS. Such was my love that I left my career to study ceramics at UCA Farnham, graduating in 2020.
I am inspired by the beautiful woods around me. my latest work reflects the imperfect beauty in tree stumps from fallen trees after the storms.
My mark-making reflects the turbulent nature of human relationships.Process and Practice
Much of my work is thrown, but I also use slab and hand-building techniques. Lately I have been exploring ways to make my practice more sustainable. This involves moving to a process of single-firing which has taken some adaptations and produced some diasters too. moving forward, I am starting to explore more sustainably sourced raw materials, and even using found clays.
