Path and Inspiration
After a corporate/uniformed working life, discovering pottery was like being suddenly liberated from a dark-suited world.Inspired by many artists, I like to explore form or figures and create joyful pieces. I would say clay is definitely my canvas, because colour is what I crave most.Process and Practice
I only ever have a vague plan when I start something new, so I spend time playing with the clay until I decide on a shape or form. Even then, I like to stay open to possibilities, so what may have been leading towards the functional may become a sculpture or figure and vice versa.When decorating, I like a bold design so colours are as vibrant as my palette allows. Colour is definitely the soul of my work.
