Path and Inspiration
Still at the early stages of my pottery journey - figuring it all out.
I took a short course at a local pottery studio and very quickly became obsessed. Within the first year of having been introduced to ceramics my garden studio, from which i work as a UX designer, has become a busy one person pottery. Now my laptop battles the dust as i neglect my day job in favour of this beautiful practice.Process and Practice
My work often begins as a crude doodle in a sketchbook that i bring to life with slabs and some thrown elements. Other times i'm constructing components without much of an end goal and cobbling them together to see what i can discover. I set the parameters but the clay always knows best. With each batch of pots I learn more and the last pot informs the next, the clay knows best but the kiln has the final say.
