Path and Inspiration
Originally a hobby potter, inspired and encouraged by DCPG potters and Harrow College to experiment with sculptures and altered forms, a range of firing techniques and types of clay, and emboldened by successes to exhibit in local galleries and exhibitions. Courses in Mashiko, Tokyo, France and the UK have improved my throwing and broadened the range of clays and decorating techniques in my repertoire. I enjoy the suggestion of landscapes and also the technical challenges of making teapotsProcess and Practice
Enjoy organising community events and exhibitions and providing opportunities for the public to enjoy getting involved with clay. Became chair of DCPG this year after several years as vice chair and events organiser. My work remains varied and reflects a variety of current interests and seasonal shifts, whether making bells for christmas, or water features for the summer, or experimenting with slip cast porcelain or sculpting figures or animal forms.
