Path and Inspiration
My interest to make stems from childhood time spent in the pottery town of Karatsu in Western Japan which is home to my family. Having attended adult education ceramics course over many years, I now practise at my home studio in East London and am a member of the Cernamic Studio community.Process and Practice
I work in a stoneware clays of varying texture chosen for surface appearance as well as structural properties. I start with forms thrown on the wheel and cut surface decoration. I use a limited range of glazes so that the form and surface lines are visible.
