Path and Inspiration
I am inspired by coastal accretions of nature and eroding engineered remnants, revealed by endless cycles of wind and tide. Old boatyards and those who dwell in them. Places and spaces where people live outside the bounds of convention.Process and Practice
Process usually beings with the thrown vessel which is then subjected to disruption to the point of precarious survival. The soft form is then dropped onto a contrasting geomorphic base. In this way polarities are expressed; biomorphic / geomorphic, precariousness / stability and more. Further alterations and mark making occurs using an intuitive process taking inspiration for the surrounding environment as well as her underlying influences.
