Path and Inspiration
I have been making pots for 40 years or more. I work mainly from my small home studio and am largely inspired by early Islamic pottery, by traditional patterns and and simple painted designs. For many years I also taught pottery to children of all ages 5-16. Most of the children had addational needs. I also initiated a successful collproject linking with a school in Gaza - photos of this work (ceramic plates with transfer decoration) are exhibited at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital London.Process and Practice
My work is mostly thrown white earthenware with oxide and stain decoration on bisque and clear glaze. I am also experimenting with majolica as another base for decorative work.
