Path and Inspiration
I have recently taken up ceramics again having been inspired by The Great Pottery Throw Down.
Originally from Stoke-on-Trent, now living in Blackpool.
I don’t have a particular style, my work is inspired by my surroundings, my love of nature, the beach, texture. Natural form the human body. I am still very much learning and experimenting.
Mainly enjoying the time I have to make my pieces as I work full time as a self employed home helper/Carer.Process and Practice
My technique is mainly handbuilding, slab work, coiling, carving and imprinting.
My most recent animal bowls I use underglaze then rub away to reveal the texture of the fur. I use a glossy vivid glaze for the inside to give a greater contrast.
I have experimented with Raku which I enjoy thoroughly, and I use an electric kiln for most of my work.
