Path and Inspiration
I started experimenting with ceramics after doing a few short courses in 2022. I meander between hand-building and wheel throwing, and enjoy exploring the limits of what is possible with the clay and my skill level. I'm a bit of a gadfly when it comes to inspiration, but find myself coming back time and again to the work of the Danish studio potters, especially those who used western raku techniques. I work in a shared ceramics space in North London.Process and Practice
What I make is at the intersection of my intentions and the clay wants to do. So every pot is an opportunity to explore learn about materials and process, reflecting a duality of need for containment and adventure. I find what emerges is almost always interesting, and sometimes beautiful too.
