Path and Inspiration
I fell into the pottery world during a time in my life when I needed something to ground me and help with emotional stress. I'm inspired by the earth and organic forms, seeking inspiration from my urban environment, architecture, nature, and ancient techniques. My work begins from the need to express myself. Both form and texture are central to my work as I want to arouse emotional responses. I also want to embrace the beauty of irregularity and the imperfections that define us as human beings.Process and Practice
I only hand build as this process is more organic for me. I love watching the clay grow from a piece of earth into a finished form, never quite knowing where the clay will take me. Hand carving and manipulating at different stages is all part of the process.Every piece I create is unique and made with love.
