Path and Inspiration
Studied Textile Design, careers in management and Interior Design. Found Ceramics aged 40 and took courses with many top contemporary potters including the Friths residential course, Takashi Yasuda, Phil Rogers, Gareth Malone, Carina Ciscato and Chris Keenan. Lindy opened her first studio in 2000. Recent events have allowed headspace and time to develop her work in coloured porcelain clays. Lindy uses her world travels and photography to inspire these Landscapes in clay.Process and Practice
Lindy makes her coloured clays, combining in layers with white porcelain & throws on the potters wheel. Usually cylinder shapes as the pictures are on the outside of the vessel. The landscape reveals a little more of itself at each stage of the making process. The true colours & smooth marble like finish appear after many making processes. The work is tactile & draws you into a familiar place you may have been to.
Lindy also makes glazed tableware, large serving & wall platters in stoneware.
