Path and Inspiration
After living abroad for almost 20 years I returned to the UK in 2011 and began to pursue my interest in art. I completed a foundation course, then an Art degree at University, receiving the Outstanding Achievement Award after making a life-size ceramic sculpture. I am now a member at Studio Pottery London. Drawing inspiration from storytelling traditions, ritual forms, and the expressive potential of the human figure, I want my pieces to feel both ancient and contemporary.
Process and Practice
As a hand-builder I enjoy the slow, meditative nature of making: coiling, carving, smoothing, burnishing – techniques that require time and patience. My work subtly engages with ideas of heritage, gender and identity, often drawing on personal and cultural histories to create layered, sculptural forms.
