Path and Inspiration
I have always been keen to work with my hands. After a short summer class in throwing, I decided to join a shared access pottery studio in east London in 2018, where I have been spending most of my week-end time, growing my pottery skills. This is how I unwind from my work life.
I take inspiration from nature and from distant memories of places I have been to. I also like to let ideas happen, unpremeditated.Process and Practice
I throw functional ware for everyday, in stoneware clays that I mix myself, as well as specialist stonewares.
I have a particular interest in decorating my work painting using slips, or layering glazes, adding sometimes texture or sgrafitto designs.
I also make some decorative gourds that I slip cast in porcelain.
