Path and Inspiration
A self-taught ceramicist, I began my artistic journey in New Zealand, finding in clay a powerful medium for emotional expression. In my hand-built pieces, I craft intimate scenes that serve as vessels for profound human experiences (and sometimes, for flowers). Through my work, I attempt to transform both architectural spaces and natural elements into emotional landscapes, each sculpted form serving as a testament to the cathartic power of shaping raw earth into meaning.Process and Practice
I am at the beginning of my ceramic journey, learning the fundamentals of pinch pottery and the perils of firing and glazing. Each piece is carefully shaped by hand, becoming a canvas for storytelling as I work, with paintbrush and pins, to build detailed narratives onto their surface. I'm gradually discovering how to transform raw clay into vessels that carry emotion, and while I have much to learn, each piece represents my current abilities and aspirations as I find my voice in clay.
