Path and Inspiration
My journey started when I was younger, spending summer holidays creating and building with my grandad. I have always loved creating. I then went into the world of teaching. Many years later, after a series of health problems, I started to explore craft workshops. After touching clay and building my first sculpture I was hooked. I knew that this was a life-long journey that I never wanted to end. I have been a contestant on 'The Great Pottery Throwdown' in 2023.Process and Practice
I have experimented with lots of differnt techniques over the 5 years of hobby making. I enjoy raku firings and have built my own Raku kiln. I love making quirky creatures, these are my speciality and have done a few commissions including cats and shrimps! I also really love throwing and love to express myself in pattern, colour and shape so my work will never just be a vessel, it will always have to have a pattern, some colour or lots of personality. I am a teacher by trade and run workshops.
