Path and Inspiration
After leaving school, aged 17, I trained and worked as a potter, a technician and a studio assistant for the next 12 or 13 years. That was followed by a period as a mature student and about over 30 years as a journalist and teacher. I am now returning to pottery and loving it.Process and Practice
I use throwing and slabbing techniques. I'm told that their look is post-industrial, steam punk and even Leach meets Art-Deco (Deco-Leach?) Ideally, I want to see my work used regularly - not languishing on shelf somewhere.
