Path and Inspiration
I specialised in Ceramics and Print at Art school and have enjoyed teaching while developing my own practice for many years.
My inspiration comes from nature, landscape and the human form. I greatly admire Scandinavian ceramics and have had the privilege of working as an Artist in Residence at Guldagergaard International Ceramics Centre in Denmark.Process and Practice
I am process led and like to experiment with techniques. I mainly work as a hand builder, with soft slabs of clay and extruded or thrown additions. I work on a series of forms often combining ceramic and printmaking techniques. I aim to produce expressive work that lets the materiality of clay speak using mainly stoneware clays and a limited palete of oxides and glazes which are fired in an electric kiln.
