Path and Inspiration
Following in my mother’s footsteps, I started exploring clay work 4 years ago which developed into ceramic practice in 2021 at Turning Earth Studio. This outpouring in clay represents my relationship to the feminine power of nature. Celebrating nature's imperfections, I observe the complex and subtle beauty of the unexpected. Nostalgic memories that bring me back to my Indian heritage and upbringing in Kenya further enrich my work from a childhood formed amidst amazing landscapes and plantsProcess and Practice
I make handcrafted vessels in clay inspired by nature. Fallen leaves and pods draw me in and I explore further. Using slips I capture botanicals like shadows and imprints, immortalising a moment in time. My work is built on collections, each piece with its own distinctive character. Led by feminine intuition, my making process allows space for the unexpected and natural growth of the delicate forms. Textures and contrasts are key to convey feeling and revealing the true nature.
