Path and Inspiration
Trained as an experimental filmmaker and performance artist, ceramics came into my life when I moved to London from Berlin - and started a family. Initially I made thrown functional work, but gradually began to experiment with decorative techniques - in particular slip transfer printing. I also started making slip moulds and experimental forms, exploring the margins of functionality and aesthetic standards.Process and Practice
I use a full palette of ceramic techniques to make collage-like pieces, emphasizing surface decoration with monoprint-slip-transfers and gold lustre accentuations.
My works are often combining ceramics with other materials - for example resin, dead insects or found objects.
