Path and Inspiration
Ceramics teacher in adult education and therapeutic work within the mental health services. Now retired. I am inspired by the natural world, trees, flowers, shells and fossils. I love colour and how glazes move in the firing process.
My passion for clay and fire seems limitless. The mystery that a lump of clay can become what we choose, with the magic of the kiln to make or undo, is a genuine ongoing challenge.Process and Practice
Firing temperatures 1060-1140. Buff or white earthenware clay. Using a small electric kiln. Recently my main work has been hand built but sometimes a combination of thrown and altered shapes.
