Path and Inspiration
'The beauty of imperfection' is the focus for my work.
I create abstract and detailed pieces influenced by my surroundings, finding particular interest in the unconventional and unattractive.
As a multi-disciplinary artist with a background in fashion design, my work is heavily focused on materiality and the exploration of form.
Process and Practice
Texture is integral in my process. It\'s the stimulus for ideas and and the thread that pulls them together.
Working in reverse, layers of intrigue are built, inspired by weathering, erosion and deconstruction. Interrupted surfaces possess a raw, tactile quality celebrating; ruptures, recesses, scratches, scuffs and cracks. In a collage-like approach to studio practice, remnants and leftover materials from previous projects are often integrated into my work, creating an organic aesthetic.
